Let's see, who watched the SAG Awards last Sunday? Because I sure didn't! There are so many award shows these days that I find it's hard to keep up- or remember! Like my friend suggested, perhaps I should start marking my calendar whenever the award season kicks off. As a blogger you're sort of "expected" to keep up with these things but, geez, I'm horrible at it so, I'm sorry guys! (By the way, when is the Oscars? I can't miss THAT!)
Ladies and gentlemen, meet my newest little obsession and everyday flats. Since my black patent leather version of the iconic Salvatore Ferragamo Varina Ballerina was about to retire, I decided it was time to replace it with its cooler, girlier and more modern cousin. My newest Varina is silver, mirrored, comfortable, has the most adorable laser-cut floral mosaic patterns, and I'm in love.
Hello ladies, I am very happy to share with you today some photos of a model home I decorated here in Antigua, Guatemala. My goal for decorating this home was to make it look like a HOME, instead of a model with just some furniture and small bits of décor in it. That meant that I had to convince the developer to spend more money than the norm, which was hard to do (I am not a great salesperson), yet after my honest sales pitch, he gave me a "go".
I'll be honest, for the longest time in my life I did not want to have children, ever. My decision was so solid that when I met my husband 7 years ago I was very clear with him that parenthood was not part of my life plan. I never saw myself as a mother and I never felt warm and fuzzy inside toward babies. I was never very good with children, either. Nor very patient. Yes, I was THAT person.
This week was tough. I was sore to the point where I could barely walk and found it extremely difficult to wake up in the morning. Have you seen how dark it still is at 6:00am? Well, just imagine at 4:30. Not fun. Overall however, this week was a very inspiring and productive one...and emotionally enriching (can I say that?).
At last, the Con Dao, Vietnam pictures! I'll be honest, I think it took me this long to sort through the pictures I wanted to share with you because I was afraid I'd feel a bit nostalgic in doing so. And I was right! I feel a tightness in my chest just by remembering the good times we had there. God, I miss that place- terribly!
Hello ladies! Each year there are a ton of trend watchers that tell us what we'll see in terms of what is hip or not in the upcoming year. I love to read those forecasts, and I realize over and over again that though I do go along with some trends, in both interior design and fashion, in general, style really is a completely timeless concept. The trick is to add just enough timeless elements to an interior so it will stand the test of time and not fill a home to the brim with what is hip and happening.
As I mentioned to you before, this year is the year my husband and I will run a marathon. We've both been runners and have run long distances before, however, never, ever have we attempted to run 26.2 miles. That's a whole lot of miles and we know it will be tough but, we're optimistic.
We barely started the New Year and I already have 2 key items in my "2013 Wish List": a pair of mirrored sunglasses (which I talked about here) and the Ray Ban Clubmaster RB3016 - the most classic Ray Ban Clubmaster there is and the one fashionistas from around the world have helped turn into a must-have Spring/Summer/Whenever staple.
It had been a while since my husband and I had a weekend filled with so many get-togethers. It was fulfilling to spend time with our closest friends, catching-up and celebrating one of their birthdays. I really missed times like these, they remind us of the importance of friendships in our lives- good friendships. You know, the ones that will always be there no matter how many times you fall and understand that our diffences is what brings us together and make us one dynamic crowd.
